Joao Pedro Rodrigues is French artist who based in Portugal
Some of his art includes:
- Monument to the Jew and the Sephardic community of the Northeast of Trás-os-Montes in Portugal
- Creation of props for the short film “A Sesta” 1 Prize for best props Czech Republic – for the ballet company Olga Roriz
- Projeto Esperança” sculptural intervention of Public Art on Avenida dos Aliados, Porto, with the finalization of the re-installation in the Jardim dos Sentimentos of the Palácio de Cristal (intervention condemning terrorism and in solidarity with the victims of 11 September 2001)
The Shielder represents the history of money and the emergence of Bitcoin
Sculpture made of locks/hinges as a metaphor for the legacy financial system and the popular bitcoin mantra, "Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins”
The front of the gold Shielder was engraved with the beautiful symbol of bitcoin while the back of it is engraved with the vision of Satoshi Nakamoto the original white paper that was first published on Oct. 31, 2008. The sculpture includes a beautiful heart that metaphor the heartbeat of the bitcoin ecosystem which is alive and kicking against those who called it death many times in the past. The eyes of the sculpture are equipped with lasers and those laser eyes signal the intention to make Bitcoin an instrument of economic empowerment
