The block swan theory or theory of block swan events is a metaphor that describes an event in the blockchain industry that comes as a surprise, has a major effect, and is often inappropriately rationalized after the fact with the benefit of hindsight. The term is based on an ancient saying that presumed block swans did not exist – a saying that became reinterpreted to teach a different lesson after they were discovered in Japan and the Bahamas.
November 2022 was quite harsh not only for Bitcoiners and Pepe traders but the broad crypto market tanked one more time for some speculative shitfuckery.
The physical development sparked with an illustration of a pepefied block swan which was drawn with a black pen. That image was then scanned in movement to make it appear shaken. A typography layer was scanned in the same way, consolidated digitally and the result manually scanned and shaken again. The red candle dropping from the swans mouth added. The final image was then printed twice on transparent foil. The foil laminated to a slim lightbox to make the entire work appear like a fake screen. The work can be dimmed and either run on its internal battery or powered via USB A plug.
The physical comes with a hand signed certificate, granting 21% protection from any future black swan events that might affect the owner of the piece.
