The only time I saw a whale I was on a beach in sub-Saharan Africa. She jumped gracefully and people shouted their joy. I want our children to live that same blissful moment. Thank you Sea Shepherd.

About The Artist -- from Kretchino

I first met Zed at the local yacht club some 10 years ago where he still teaches young and old to sail. We shared our passion for sailing dinghies on the Seine outside Paris and our dreams of crossing the oceans some day on a real cruiser.

As a computer programmer I would talk to him about bitcoin and he would explain to me the difficulties trying to make a living as an artist. By late 2016 I came across the Rare Pepe project and thought it was an unique opportunity to join our talents, so after much technical gibberish, I convinced him to draw his first Pepe card and he produced the iconic PEPESOUP... From there on 11 other cards would soon follow.

I would do the techie stuff and he would do what artists do. Each time we’d sell a card for $5, we’d talk about how bitcoin would change the World and what type of ship would be best suited for sailing the seas of wonder. But by 2018 the thrill was gone and our Rare Pepes were dormant in our wallets with our dreams until the unexpected 2021 resurrection.

Thanks to the incredible enthusiasm of the NFT community, his life has finally taken the turn we’d been waiting for the last four years. Once we got over the initial shock of such a change of fortune, we decided it was time to share our luck with those who commit their lives to protecting the oceans for the good of all, and we came up the Sea Shepherd donation project by associating Scarce.City that would make it possible before the tide turned on us once again.

Those that know Zed like I got to know him over the years, will tell you that he’s the most humble and honest character you can come across and I am forever grateful for him teaching me that there is more to life and bitcoin than code and candlestick charts. But more important than my personal relationship with Zed, it’s the community’s recognition and support that is going to make this auction an historical event for the NFT fans and undoubtedly for Sea Sepherd when the bitcoin whales step in to help save the real whales and our oceans.
